Cursed Castle v0.0.2


We’ve been hard at work since v0.0.1 making updates and are happy to announce v0.0.2 is now live!

Here are just some of the changes we wrote down for these release:

  • Added Quick Restart menu on death
  • Reduced Acceleration Delay on player
  • Added lowpass filter on pause
  • Can’t pickup health when dead
  • Settings now saved to a config file
  • Autorun toggle option
  • Armor traps can spawn flipped
  • Pressure spikes hit box lasts longer and they retract more quickly
  • Fixed bug related to overlapping armor traps in some instances
  • Delay hitbox on armor trap
  • Fixed Resum
  • Pressure trap graphics now only raised when ready to be tripped
  • SFX for pressure trap
  • Improved Look up/down when at level boundaries
  • Extended background music track
  • Damage flashing also applies to the players feather
  • Vine input replaced by a second potion (default potions are small bomb and vine)
  • Gold pickups are now dark crystals and are whippable
  • Fixed movement between fade-in
  • Fixed pause during level exit
  • Hang snaps slightly lower to make ledge hangs from above a bit easier.
  • Player hitbox is now below floor when ledge hanging
  • Sword swipe hitbox more accurately reflects animation
  • Ledge Hangs now snap x coordinate as well
  • Made bookshelves darker with lighter ledges
  • Allow entering climb state while attacking
  • Look up/down simultaneously now always does neither
  • Attempt fix at holding left and right on a controller at the same time.
  • Secret room camera now only locks back to limit when it’s completely out of frame.
  • Look takes slightly longer to return once letting go of look direction
  • Updates to climbing that makes adjacent climbable more stable
  • Removed y position snapping from spikes
  • Jumping up to spikes is now safe (in theory)
  • Add Foreground decorations to spikes
  • Add visual indication of potion’s explode timer
  • Added sfx for option fuse
  • Updated sfx for vine
  • Added dedicated door button
  • Split Settings into Controls / Graphics / Audio
  • Sound effects pause/unpause in sync with the pause menu being opened/closed
  • Add support for keyboard / gamepad rebinding
  • Add Look Up State/Animation
  • Replaced fly with marybeetle.
  • Updated coins to new geodes for score
  • Add pickup for potion bottles
